Example tasks include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Literature reviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distilling complex topics into forecastable questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responding to forecasters\u2019 questions or clarification requests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting project leads in designing and conducting experiments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyzing data and aggregating forecasts from in-progress and previous forecasting tournaments and experiments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helping to run forecasting tournaments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collecting historical data underlying forecasting questions to embed in forecasting tournaments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">qualifications<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ideal candidate would have the following characteristics, but do not let this list prevent you from applying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Generalist research skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear, explicit communicator&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong writing skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with, and interest in, quantitative forecasting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work productively in a self-directed (remote) environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfort taking on new challenges and learning new tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with some of the data skills listed in our <a href=\"https:\/\/forecastingresearch.org\/roles\/data-analyst\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">data analyst job description<\/a>, though not required, is preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>We highly encourage you to apply, even if you don&#8217;t feel completely qualified. Some of the best people we\u2019ve worked with in our careers felt underqualified when they first applied, and we\u2019re glad they did so anyway.<\/em><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The fine print<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role details<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a part time, contractor role, with a preference for candidates who will be available 10+ hours\/week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This role is entirely remote, and we are able to hire people in most countries. Team members can work whichever hours of the day work for them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay is commensurate with experience, starting at $25\/hour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We prefer applicants who can start immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All RAs are hired on a 3-month term initially, to test for mutual fit.
