Part-Time Student Research Assistant


The role

Student research assistants support our research team in a variety of ways. Example tasks include:

  • Literature reviews

  • Distilling complex topics into forecastable questions

  • Conducting research and analysis to help design forecasting tournaments and experiments

  • Supporting the running of forecasting tournaments and experiments

  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from in-progress and previous forecasting tournaments and experiments


Qualifications

This role is designed for students with a strong interest in forecasting or cause prioritization. The ideal candidate would have the following characteristics, but we are interested in supporting your development in the role, so do not let this list prevent you from applying:

  • Studying for an undergraduate or a master's degree

  • Generalist research skills

  • Clear, explicit communicator

  • Strong writing skills

  • Interest in quantitative forecasting

  • Ability to work productively in a self-directed (remote) environment

  • Comfort taking on new challenges and learning new tools

The fine print

Role details

This is a part-time, contractor role for students in higher education. If you are not a student, please refer to our Research Assistant role.

  • We prefer candidates who will be available around 10 hours/week.

  • This role is entirely remote, and we can hire people in most countries. Applicants can work whichever hours of the day work for them.

  • We prefer applicants who can start immediately.

  • Pay is $20/hour.

  • A paid 10-hour work test
